Before Installation

Before installing Shield Deluxe, please read installation instructions carefully. Please make sure that your personal computer meets the minimal system requirements. (If you are unsure please cancel your installation and visit our website at www.pcss.com.)

Consider the Following before Installing the Product

 Installing Shield Deluxe is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:

• If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will terminate automatically.

• If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Shield Deluxe will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to solve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.

Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software

• Click the Start button.
• Open the Control Panel by:
  • In Windows XP, just click the Control Panel.
  • Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
• Double click Add or Remove Programs.
• Find any anti-virus software and uninstall them (including Norton-Symantec, TrendMicro, PC-Cillin-ETrust, AVG, etc, Antivirus).
   

  Important! Before installing the product, make sure to print out the License Key Code provided to you via email. If you do not have the Key Code or the Download you can go to www.pcsecurityshield.com and click on “Key Code and Download Center” link. Please use your order number or email address to obtain your “keycodes”.

Installing Shield Deluxe

Step1: Download Setup

To install, open the Shield Deluxe setup dialog box using one of these methods:

If you are downloading from a CD-ROM, perform the following:

• Typically, the installation wizard will start automatically.
• If the autorun option is disabled on your computer or the setup program does not start automatically, open the Windows Explorer through the Start - Programs menu and select the CD or DVD drive. Then, run the Shield Deluxe executable setup file.

If you are downloading the software, perform the following:

• After you launch the executable setup file
  the Setup Wizard of Shield Deluxe
  is launched.
• Click “Next” to continue.

Step 2: License Agreement

• Read the End-User License
  Agreement and click on “Next”.

Step 3: Selecting Installation Folder

• We recommend you using the default
  settings.

• Click “Next” to continue.

 We recommend choosing the following setup type:

• Complete – all program features
  will be installed. 

• In order to proceed with the installation please remove the software listed (see the example on the right).

• Click “Install” to begin the Shield Deluxe
  installation.

• Click “Next” to continue.

• Click on the following radio button:
  Activate using the activation code.
• Click on “Next”.

• Enter the activation code which you
  received when you purchased the
  Shield Deluxe.
• Please provide contact information.
• Click “Next” to continue.

Note: if you do not have the Activation Code please
refer to page 2 for detail instruction.

• Setup Wizard will connect to activation
  Server.
• Click “Next”.

• Interactive protection can detect
  attempts to modify system settings, as
  well as suspicious system and network
  activity. .
• We recommend “Basic” mode.
• Click “Next”.

Step 12: Update

• We recommend the Automatically Update
  Mode.
• Click “Next”.

• Regular scans ensure that your computer
  is free of malicious programs.
• Select the appropriate scan method.
• Click “Next”.

• Password protection prevents unauthorized
  attempts to disable protection or change
  settings.
• Enable password protection and
  create a password.
• Click “Next”.

• You can start the Shield Deluxe.
• Click “Finish”

• The Shield Deluxe Icon appears on your system tray located on the lower right hand corner of your screen next your time

If you need to uninstall Shield Deluxe

• On the Windows taskbar, Click Start   Settings or Control Panel
• In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs
• In the list of currently installed programs, click on
  • Do one of the following:
  • In Windows 2000/ME, click Change/Remove
  • In Windows 98, Click Add/Remove
  • In Windows XP, click Change/Remove
• The Shield Deluxe has been successfully removed window appears
• Restart your computer (recommend).
