Installing Shield Deluxe is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:

• If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will be terminated automatically.
• If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Shield Deluxe will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to resolve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.

Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software

• Click the Start button.
• Open the Control Panel by: performing the following
  • In Windows XP and Vista, just click the Control Panel.
  • Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
• Double clickAdd or Remove Programs or Program & Feature (Uninstall) for Vista.
• Locate any anti-virus software and uninstall them (including Norton-Symantec, TrendMicro, PC-Cillin-ETrust, AVG or other Antivirus).
   

  Important! Before installing the product, make sure to print out the License Key Code provided to you via email. If you do not have the Key Code or the Download you can go to http://support.pcsecurityshield.com/keys/dspLostKeys.aspx and click on “Key Code and Download Center” link. Please use your order number and email address to obtain your “activation codes”.

Installing Shield Deluxe

To install, open the Shield Deluxe setup dialog box using one of these methods:

1. If you are downloading from a CD, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the opening screen appears, click on Shield Deluxe and then “Install now”.  
2. If you download your subscription from our website we strongly recommend that you save the file to your Desktop by doing so it will allow you to locate the file immediately. 

Step 2: Welcome to Shield Deluxe 2008

• Click “Next” to continue.

Step 3: End User License Agreement

• Read the End-User License
  Agreement.
• Select “I accept the terms of the Lincense Agreement”.
• Click on “Next”.

• The Shield Deluxe 2008 application will install in the “C” drive. The “C” drive is the default setting.
• Click “Next” to continue.

Step 5: Choose Setup Type

• Click on Complete.
• Click “Next”. 

Step 6: Ready to Install

• Make sure the “Enabled Self-Defense” is removed.
• Click “Install”.

• Click “Next” to continue.

• We recommend selecting “Activate using the activation code”.
• Click on “Next”. 

• Enter the activation code which you received when you purchased the Shield Deluxe.
• Please provide contact information.
• Click “Next” to continue.

• We recommend “Basic” mode.
• Click “Next”.

• Click on “Automatically”.
• Click “Next” to continue.

Step 12: Scans Method

• Select the appropriate scan method.
• Click “Next”.

• Click “Next”.

• Restart your computer to complete installation.
• Click “Finish”.

• The Shield Deluxe Icon appears on your system tray located on the lower right hand corner of your screen next your time.

• Make sure to update the Signature Files.
• Also it is recommend to perform a full  computer scan.

To Uninstall the Shield Deluxe 2008

Please disable the application before uninstalling the Shield Deluxe.

• To disable the software right click the  " D" icon in your system tray by the clock;
• A message box will appear with a list of options;
• Please select the Exit option. This will disable your software.
• Go to the Control Panel.
• Click on Add and Remove Program.
• Locate the Shield Deluxe.
• Click “Remove”.
