Security Shield 2007 Installation

Before Installation

Before installing Security Shield, read the installation instructions carefully and also review the system requirements. Make sure all programs are close before installing Security Shield as other active programs may interfere with the installation.

Consider the Following before Installing the Product

Installing Security Shield is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:

  • If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will be terminated automatically.
  • If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Security Shield will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to solve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.

Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software

  • Click the Start button.
  • Open the Control Panel by:
    • In Windows XP, just click the Control Panel.
    • Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
  • Double click Add or Remove Programs.
  • Find any anti-virus software and uninstall them.


Installing Security Shield

Step1: Download Setup

To install, open the SecurityShield setup dialog box using one of these methods:

If you are downloading from a CD-ROM, perform the following:

  • Typically, the installation wizard will start automatically.
  • If the autorun option is disabled on your computer or the setup program does not start automatically, open the Windows Explorer through the Start - Programs menu and select the CD or DVD drive. Then, run the SS_SETUP.EXE file.

In you are downloading the software, perform the following:

  • Download and Save the SecurityShield setup files on your Desktop (Recommended).

Step2: Security Warning

  • A Security dialog box appears.
  • Click Run
   

Step 3: Installation Language

  • Select the appropriate installation
    language.
  • Click “Next” to continue.


   

Step 4: License Agreement

  • Read the End-User License
    Agreement and click on the
    radio button to “Accept” the
    terms and conditions and then
    click “Next”.
  • If you do not accept, you cannot
    continue with the installation.

Step 5: Subscription Number

  • In the text boxes, type the
    Subscription number.
  • Click “Next”.

   

Step 6: Installation Directory

  • We recommend you use the directory
    suggested by the Wizard.
  • Click “Next” to continue.
   

Step 7: Preparing Installation

  • The Installation Wizard prepares
    to install Security Shield.

Step 8: Parental Control Password

  • Create a password for Parental
    Control.
    The Pass is required to configure
    the product Settings.
  • Click “Next” to continue.

Step 9: Restart

  • We recommend you “Restart” your
    computer to be fully protected.
  • Click “Finish” to continue.



Step 10: System Tray
  • After the installation, the Security Shield Icon will appear on your system tray located on the lower right hand corner

If you need to uninstall Security Shield

To uninstall Security Shield, perform the following:
  • On the Windows taskbar, Click Start >> Settings or Control Panel
  • In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs
  • In the list of currently installed programs, click on
    • Do one of the following:
    • In Windows 2000/ME, click Change/Remove
    • In Windows 98, Click Add/Remove
    • In Windows XP, click Change/Remove
  • The Security Shield has been successfully removed window appears
  • Restart your computer (recommend).
