Shield Professional Installation

Before Installation

Before installing Shield Professional, please read installation instructions carefully. Please make sure that your personal computer meets the minimal system requirements. (If you are unsure please cancel your installation and visit our website at www.pcss.com.)

Consider the Following before Installing the Product

Installing Shield Professional is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:

  • If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will be terminated automatically.
  • If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Shield Professional will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to solve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.

Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software

  • Click the Start button.
  • Open the Control Panel by:
    • In Windows XP, just click the Control Panel.
    • Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
  • Double click Add or Remove Programs.
  • Find any anti-virus software and uninstall them (including Norton-Symantec, TrendMicro, PC-Cillin-ETrust, AVG, etc, Antivirus).

Important! Before installing the product, make sure to print out the License Key Code provided to you via email. If you do not have the Key Code or the Download you can go to www.pcsecurityshield.com and click on “Key Code and Download Center” link. Please use your order number or email address to obtain your “keycodes”.

Installing Shield Professional

Step1: Download Setup

To install, open the Shield Professional setup dialog box using one of these methods:

If you are downloading from a CD-ROM, perform the following:

  • Typically, the installation wizard will start automatically.
  • If the autorun option is disabled on your computer or the setup program does not start automatically, open the Windows Explorer through the Start - Programs menu and select the CD or DVD drive. Then, run the EasyInstallerShield2007H_Pro.EXE file.

In you are downloading the software, perform the following:

  • Security Warning dialog appears, this is to notifying you that you are downloading a file to your computer.
  • Click “Run” to continue.

Step 2: Welcome to the Shield Proessional

  • Setup Wizard will guide you to the
    Installation of the Shield Professional.
  • Click “Next”.

Step 3: License Agreement
  • Read the End-User License
    Agreement and click on “I Agree
    button.


   
Step 4: Shield Professional Setup
  • Select the appropriate program to
    download. You can select both
    or one at a time.
  • Click Next to continue

Step 5: Start Menu Folder Appears
  • We recommend you use the
    Default settings.
  • Click “Next”.

Step 6: Shield Antivirus Install Setup
  • The Installation Wizard appears to
    start the installation process for
    Shield Antivirus.
  • Click “Next” to continue.



   
Step 7: License Agreement
  • Read the End-User License
    Agreement and click on “Yes
    button.
   
Step 8: Customer Information
  • Enter your User and company
    name (The company name field box must be populated. If there is no company type “Home” or the letter “X”)
  • Insert the “VRBD” License Keys, these are case sensitive. We recommend that you copy-paste instead of typing them.
  • Click “Next” to continue.
   

Step 10: Scan the Process

  • We recommend not to run this process
  • Click “Next”.

Step 11: Setup Type
  • We recommend not to run this process
  • Click “Next”.




   
Step 12: Activate Product
  • We recommend not to run this process
  • Click “Next” to continue.
   

Step 13: Finish

  • The Shield Antivirus has successfully installed.
  • We recommend not to run the Update for the latest definition and ReadMe file
  • Click “Finish”.

Step 14: After Restart
  • The Shield Antivirus Engine Update Appears
  • You can detect or repair new virus if you
    update to the new Antivirus Engine.
  • The Update option, allows you to download
    latest update files.
  • The Configure option will allow you to change
    update setting.


   
Step 15: Extracting Files
  • The InstallShield Wizard extracts the files needed to install the Shield Firewall on your computer. This may take a few moments.


   
Step 16: Setup Wizard
  • The Setup Wizard will install the Shield Firewall.
  • Click “Next”.


   
Step 17: License Agreement
  • Read the End-User License
    Agreement and click on “I Agree
    button.

Step 18: Customer Information
  • Enter your User and Organization name (The Organization field box must be populated. If there is no organization type “Home” or “X”)
  • Insert your FWP License Keys in the Serial Number text box (the letters are case sensitive). We recommend that you copy-paste instead of typing them.
  • Click “Next” to continu


   
Step 19 Destination Location
  • We recommend you use the directory suggested by the Wizard.
  • Click “Next”.


   
Step 20 Setup Wizard
  • Click “Install” to begin the Installation.


   
Step 21: Finish
  • Click “Finish”.
  • Restart your computer (Recommend).

Step 22: System Tray
  • After the installation, the Shield Antivirus (Blue V) and Shield Firewall (Blue Flame) Icon appears on your system tray located on the lower right hand corner

If you need to uninstall Shield Professional

To uninstall Shield Antivirus, perform the following:

  • On the Windows taskbar, Click Start >> Settings or Control Panel
  • In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs
  • In the list of currently installed programs, click on Shield Antivirus
    1. Do one of the following:
    2. In Windows 2000/ME, click Change/Remove
    3. In Windows 98, Click Add/Remove
    4. In Windows XP, click Change/Remove
  • The Shield Antivirus has been successfully removed window appears
  • Restart your computer (Recommend).
To uninstall Shield Firewall, perform the following:
  • On the Windows taskbar, Click Start >> All Programs>>Shield Firewall
    >>Uninstall.
  • The Shield Firewall has been successfully removed window appears
  • Restart your computer (Recommend).
