Shield Pro 2008 Installation

Installing Shield Pro 2008 is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:

  • If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will be terminated automatically.
  • If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Shield Pro 2008 will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to resolve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.

Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software

  • Click the Start button.
  • Open the Control Panel by performing the following
    • In Windows XP and Vista, just click the Control Panel
    • Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
  • Double click Add or Remove Programs.
  • Windows Vista click on Program and Feature (Uninstall).
  • Locate any anti-virus software and uninstall them (including Norton-Symantec, TrendMicro, PC-Cillin-ETrust, AVG or other Antivirus).

Important! Before installing the product, make sure to print out the License Key Code provided to you via email. If you do not have the Key Code or the Download you can go to http://support.pcsecurityshield.com/keys/dspLostKeys.aspx and click on “Key Code and Download Center” link. Please use your order number and email address to obtain your “activation codes”.

Installing the Shield Pro 2008

Step1: Download Setup

  1. If you are downloading from a CD, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the opening screen appears, click on Shield Pro and then “Install now”.
  2. If you download your subscrition from our website we strongly recommend that you save the file to your Desktop by doing so it will allow you to locate the file immedately. 

Step 2: Welcome to the Shield Pro 2008

  • Setup Wizard will guide you to the
    Installation of the Shield Professional.
  • Click “Next”.

Step 3: License Agreement
  • Read the End-User License
    Agreement.
  • Click “Yes” to continue


   
Step 4: Customer Information
  • Enter your name or the user’s name.
  • Enter Company name or if there is no company type “Home”.
    Note: Company name field box must be populated.
  • Enter your activation code. To reduce error, we strongly recommend tht you copy-paste instead of typing them.
  • Click “Next” to continue.

Step 5: Destination Location
  • The Shield Pro 2008 application will install in the “C” drive. The “C” drive is the default setting.
  • Click “Next"

Step 6: The Shield Antivirus Setup Wizard
  • We recommend skipping this process.
  • Click “Next” to contiue.
   
Step 7: Setup Status
  • The Shield Pro 2008 setup is performing the requested operations. 
   
Step 8: Activate Software
  • We recommend skipping this process.
  • Click “Next” to continue.
   

Step 9: Configuration

  • Click on “Configuration”.

Step 10: Update Configuration
  • Automatic Update
    • Make sure the “Enable automatic Update” and “Pop-up message after auto Update” are checked.
  • Update Server
    • Select one of our update servers.
  • Click “Ok” to continue
   

Step 11: After Installation

  • The Shield Pro (Blue V) Icon appears on your system tray located on the lower right hand corner of your screen next your time.

If you need to uninstall Shield Pro 2008

To uninstall Shield Antivirus, perform the following:

  • On the Windows taskbar, Click Start >> Settings or Control Panel
  • In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs
  • In the list of currently installed programs, click on Shield Pro
    1. Do one of the following:
    2. In Windows 2000/ME, click Change/Remove
    3. In Windows 98, Click Add/Remove
    4. In Windows XP, click Change/Remove
  • The Shield Antivirus has been successfully removed window appears
  • Restart your computer (Recommend).
