Before Installation
Before installing Shield AV, please read installation instructions carefully. Please make sure that your personal computer meets the minimal system requirements. (If you are unsure please cancel your installation and visit our website at www.pcss.com.)
Consider the Following before Installing the Product
Installing Shield Antivirus is very easy; installation wizard will guide you through the process step by step. However, there are some aspects that you must keep in mind before installing the program:
- If your computer does not meet the installation requirements the installation process will terminate automatically.
- If incompatible software is detected during the installation process, Shield Antivirus will display a message indicating so, and the installation process will be terminated. In order to solve this situation, uninstall the programs indicated and start the process once again.
Uninstall any Other Anti-Virus Software
- Click the Start
button.
- Open the Control Panel
by:
- In Windows XP, just click the Control Panel.
- Otherwise, click Settings then click the Control Panel.
- Double click Add or Remove Programs.
 - Find any anti-virus software and uninstall them (including Norton-Symantec, TrendMicro, PC-Cillin-ETrust, AVG, etc, Antivirus).
| Important! Before installing the product, make sure to print out the License Key Code provided to you via email. If you do not have the Key Code or the Download you can go to www.pcsecurityshield.com and click on “Key Code and Download Center” link. Please use your order number or email address to obtain your “keycodes”. |

Installing Security Shield
Step1: Download Setup
To install, open the SecurityShield setup dialog box using one of these methods:
If you are downloading from a CD-ROM, perform the following: 
- Typically, the installation wizard will start automatically.
- If the autorun option is disabled on your computer or the setup program does not start automatically, open the Windows Explorer through the Start - Programs menu and select the CD or DVD drive. Then, run the EasyInstallerShield2007H_Pro.EXE file.
In you are downloading the software, perform the following:
- Security Warning dialog appears, this is to notifying you that you are downloading a file to your computer.
- Click “Run” to continue.

Step 2: Welcome to the Shield Antivirus
- The Setup Wizard will guide you
through the installation of the
Shield Antivirus 2007.
- Click “Next”.

Step 4: License Agreement
- Read the End-User License
Agreement and click on “I Agree”
button.

Step 5: Shield Antivirus Setup
- Make sure the Shield Antivirus
(ViRobot) is Checked.
- Click “Next” to continue.

Step 6: Start Menu Folder
- We recommend you use the
Default settings.
- Click “Next”.

Step 7: Install Setup
- Setup now has enough information
to start installing. - Click “Install”.

Step 8: Preparing to Install
- The Shield Antivirus is preparing
to install.

Step 9: Shield Antivirus Wizard
- The Shield Antivirus Installation
Wizard screen appears.
- Click “Next” to continue.

Step 10: License Agreement
- Read the License Agreement.
- Click on “Yes”.

Step 11: Customer Information
- Enter your User and company
name (The company name field
box must be populated. If there is
no company type “Home” or “X”)
- Insert the "VRBD" License Keys,
these are case sensitive. We
recommend that you copy-paste
instead of typing them.
- Click “Next” to continue.

Step 12: Destination Location
- We recommend you use the directory
suggested by the Wizard.
- Click “Next”.

Step 13: Scan the Process
- We recommend skipping this process..
- Click “Next”.

Step 14: Setup Type
- We recommend skipping the process.
- Click “Next”.

Step 15: Activate Product
- We recommend skipping this process.
- Click “Next”.

Step 16: Finish
- Click “Finish”.
- Restart your computer (Recommend).

Step 17: System Tray
After the Shield Antivirus installation, the Blue Icon appears on the system tray located on the lower right hand corner

Step 18: After Restart
- The Shield Antivirus Engine Update Appears
- You can dectect or repair new virus if you
update to the new Antivirus Engine.
- The Update option, allows you to download
lastest update files.
- The Configure option allows you to change
update settings. This is where you can Update
Server if an “Update Fails” message appears.
Also when congirueing the Server make sure
the “Auto Search” option is unchecked.

If you need to uninstall Shield Antivirus
To uninstall Shield Antivirus, perform the following:
- On the Windows taskbar, Click Start
>> Settings or Control Panel  - In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs
 - In the list of currently installed programs, click on Shield Antivirus
- Do one of the following:
- In Windows 2000/ME, click Change/Remove
- In Windows 98, Click Add/Remove
- In Windows XP, click Change/Remove
- The Shield Antivirus has been successfully removed window appears
- Restart your computer (Recommend).
